LETTERSJune 25, 2002 Dear Ken and Mercy, I enjoy hearing about the world of the comics and their creators every week on the show. The panel discussions with the artists at the conventions; the background details and personalities of the people in the business; the stories of how the companies started, developed and changed over the years; also the insiders' perspective on why and how things happen. I also liked hearing about the dark days of the '50's Congressional hearings, the giants forming in the '60's, and especially the story of the mess at Marvel Comics caused by the battle for control between Ron Perelman and Carl Icahn. It was fascinating to get your takes on the developments as the $300 million was looted from the assets and the other stockholders by Perelman, not counting the damage caused by Icahn, as they ran the company into the ground and turned it into a shell. Your commentaries and analyses mix it all together into an enlightening educational whole that's valuable to hear. Sincerely, COMMENT OR SEND US A NEW MISSIVE
